Before I DieZid

We created the first “Before I Die” wall in Serbia in the summer of 2015 on Ada Ciganlija. This project was realized within the global art movement that is currently present in over 1000 cities across the world.

Aboutproject

The sentence “Before I die I want to…” is getting its new endings every day from the increasing number of Belgrade citizens and visitors of Ada Ciganlija. The wall has become a great attraction among the citizens of Belgrade and tourists, and it moved the community of people that are glad to share their wishes with friends over social networks and make their deepest desires transparent, thus becoming inspiration to others.

Every few days, when the weather is nice, we visit the wall, wipe it clean and prepare the chalks for new wishes that we photograph, post on our Facebook page and share with those that are still thinking about what they wish to do in life.

he “Before I Die Wall” is a global initiative started by Candy Chang from New Orleans. The idea has been accepted very quickly and it is currently present in over 1000 cities across the world. The essence of the “Before I Die Wall” are the writings of passers-by inspired by the question “What is it that I really want to do in life?”. There are chalks next to the wall, and the sentence “Before I die I want to…” has a variety of endings – a mix of love, happiness, sorrow, desire, gratitude…
