Reading is very important in the process of acquiring knowledge, in daily communication, in the collection and exchange of information. There are fewer children who like to read.
They are not motivated, although they are happy to listen when someone reads them. Every day, at the beginning of the first hour, I read to my first readers the songs or stories I first picked out, and now they decide which story to read. Everyone gets two passages from some fairy tales or stories and, after reading independently, they vote for themselves in the story they want to hear. This is our everyday ritual. We slowly move to the second stage: they read to friends. So, there is interest in the written word, but there is a lack of motivation to read on its own.
In the framework of project teaching in the first grade, I proposed the project "Reading with moms, dads, aunts ..." at the time of the project teaching. The mothers (to a greater extent) were replaced by reading the picture books they chose.
A few years ago, there was a project "(U) read a book" aimed at promoting reading and developing love for the book. The name got word from the word children use when they get a new computer game. Starting from the interest of children for games, the book Igrica Labyrinth on the boy Vasilii is in the game and goes from one level to the next level solving riddles, puzzles and problems. Workshop-room was created with the goal of motivating children to read books and apply knowledge. It has been successfully implemented in several primary schools and libraries in the previous period. I invited colleagues to join the project and celebrate the Children's Literature Day. Although participation in the project is voluntary, without any certificates and certificates, dozens of teachers, Serbian language teachers, librarians and professional associates from 32 schools applied. They received a script for a workshop, instructions, gratitude for participation, and an excerpt from the book Maze of the Maze.
Workshop - the thinking room consists of two parts. In the first part, students received information on marking Children's Day, then they were invited to one trip with an interesting means of transport. It was precisely the first puzzle, and behind it were some other riddles, problems, brainstorming and mathematics tasks. Teachers expressed their satisfaction and satisfaction with the reports they sent to the author. They especially emphasized that children liked the thoughtful journey, that they were motivated, interested, active, and there were funny and unusual solutions. In the second part of the workshop, an excerpt from the novel Gaming Labyrinth is presented. The students helped the hero of the novel Vasili to solve the problem and move to the next level of the game. At the end of the workshop, the implementers recommended reading books. The goal was achieved because in several schools after the workshop, the students visited school libraries and borrowed books of their choice or recommendations from librarians.
